
Haldwani. Uttarakhand STF has achieved a major success in the campaign to make Uttarakhand drug free. The Anti Narcotics Task Force team has arrested an interstate drug smuggler. One and a half kilo hashish has been recovered from him. The arrested charas smuggler was trying to bring a consignment of charas from his village and sell it in Kathgodam when the ANTF team caught him.
Uttarakhand STF is running a campaign across the state to arrest the increasing drug smuggling in Uttarakhand and the people associated with it. In this series, the team of ANTF Kumaon and STF has arrested near Simliya Band. During the checking, the joint team under the leadership of ANTF Inspector Pavan Swaroop arrested Rajendra Mewari, son of late, resident of Kalaagar Khansu District Nainital. Dev Singh Mewari has been arrested with 1 kg 534 grams of hashish.
According to ANTF in-charge, the accused was supplying charas in Kumaon for a long time. A case has been registered against the accused. The team of Anti Narcotics Task Force Kumaon Division has recovered 27 kg 412 grams of hashish, 7 kg 915 grams of opium and 1 kg 391 grams of smack last year. SSP STF Ayush Aggarwal says that people involved in drug smuggling will not be spared under any circumstances.
