On the instructions of the Acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court, the Registrar General has issued an order and suspended the former Registrar General of the High Court and Rudraprayag District and Sessions Judge Anuj Kumar Sanghal with immediate effect till the investigation.

 

He has been accused of harassing his class IV classmate and forcing him to consume poison. The Registrar General of the Nainital High Court has issued a letter on January 3, 2024. It has been said in the letter that Rudraprayag District Judge Anuj Kumar Sanghal is facing serious allegations of harassing Class IV employee Harish Singh Adhikari.

 

He has been accused of threatening Harish, after which he was forced to commit suicide. Harish was working at his residence during his tenure as Registrar (Vigilance) and allegations have been made against him for abusing Harish and threatening to fire him from the job.

 

 

Anuj Kumar Sanghal has been accused of making Harish work from 8 am to 10 pm by abusing him. While giving information to the disciplinary committee on November 18, 2023, Sangal has been accused of giving wrong working hours and wrong type of work to Harish. Harish’s power was misused by delaying the approval of his earned leave, due to which his salary could not be withdrawn. Tortured Harish consumed poison outside the residence of Anuj Kumar Sanghal on 3 January 2023.

 

 

This is inhuman and misconduct under Rule 3(1) and 3(2) of Uttarakhand Government Servant Conduct Rules 2002. The allegation is also that he had hidden the fact of Harish consuming poison from the then Chief Justice. It has also been said in the letter that during the suspension, Anuj Kumar Sanghal will remain attached to the office of the District and Sessions Judge of Chamoli and he will get his allowances as per rules.
