Big news is coming from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, where chlorine gas has leaked in Jhanjra area under Prem Nagar police station. After this incident there is panic in the entire area. This leakage happened from inside the vacant plot here, due to which the people nearby are facing difficulty in breathing. After which the surrounding area has been evacuated. Police, fire department and SDRF teams have reached the spot.
After the incident, there was a stir in Dehradun in the early hours of Tuesday. Chandan Nagar area was evacuated due to chlorine gas leakage in Jhajhra area here. There have also been reports of many people becoming unconscious, who have been taken to the hospital. Local police and NDRF team reached the spot as soon as information about the incident was received.
According to the information received, due to gas leakage, nearby residents have been evacuated so that there is no problem of any kind. Dehradun SSP Ajay Kumar said that the gas leaking cylinder is also being removed from there. Efforts are being made to bury them by digging a pit, so that the situation can be controlled.
Giving information in this matter, SSP said that gas cylinders were kept in an empty plot of Jhajhra area under Premnagar police station, out of which suddenly started leaking. The leakage started at 3 am in the morning, upon receiving information about which NDRF reached the spot. All the people have been shifted to a safe place.
Chlorine gas harms health. Generally it is used as insecticide. It is also used as a bleaching agent in washing. If exposed to it for a long time, it can have a deep impact on health. Its strong smell harms eyes, skin and respiratory system.
