The Uttarakhand High Court has asked the captains of UP and Uttarakhand Police, who failed in the search for the kidnapped girl from Haridwar, to present the kidnapped girl before CJM Haridwar by 5 pm today. The court has issued orders for protection of the girl from the CJM and has fixed January 16 as the next date.

Haridwar resident Amarjeet had lodged a complaint with the police saying that his wife had gone missing somewhere. After this, UP and Uttarakhand police started searching for him. After not getting any trace of his wife for a long time, Amarjeet took refuge in the High Court.

In pursuance of the earlier orders of the Court, the Investigating Officer (I.O.) S.I. Bhupendra Singh appeared online recently. He told that he is the investigating officer in the case of 363 (kidnapping) registered in Deoband police station of Saharanpur in UP. The investigating officer had said that after December 5, 2023, no trace of the kidnapped girl could be found.

Kidnapped petitioner’s husband Amarjeet also joined online during the hearing and said that there has been no talk with his wife since December 4. The division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Vivek Bharti Sharma had issued an order asking SSP Haridwar and Kotwal of Deoband to produce the kidnapped girl in the court by the next date.

After the rebuke of the court, UP and Uttarakhand police conducted a joint investigation and told the court that their team has gone to Patiala in search of the kidnapped girl, because it is suspected that she might have gone with her relative working in Patiala. .

Angered by the poor action of the police, the division bench has asked SSP Haridwar and SSP Saharanpur to present the kidnapped girl before CJM Haridwar by 5 pm on January 13. The division bench directed CJM Haridwar to issue orders that after finding the girl, the kidnapped girl should remain safe.
