
Khashti Devi was attacked by three bears while cutting grass in the forest of Nainital in Uttarakhand. The woman was brought to BD Pandey Hospital in an injured condition where she is undergoing treatment. 37-year-old Khashti Devi, who had gone to cut grass in the forest of Saud village on the Nainital to Kilbari Kunjkhadak road, was attacked by a bear from behind. It is being told that there were three bears there, one of which attacked and dragged Khashti Devi away.
According to eyewitness Neeraj, in this incident which took place at 9:30 in the morning, Khashti Devi was being dragged by the bear, when four other people present there along with him created a ruckus. All three bears ran away leaving Khashti Devi who was cutting grass in the forest. . Neeraj told that all three bears were adults and in appearance they appeared to be Himalayan bears. The woman has claw marks on her ears, neck and back.
The woman has been admitted after stitching them. An amount of Rs 10,000 was given to the woman’s family as immediate assistance by the Forest Range Officer. The Forest Department team reached the hospital and assured to patrol the area.
