
Very sad news is coming from Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. According to the information received, a four-year-old innocent boy was killed by a leopard while playing in the field in front of his mother who was cutting fodder in her field in Nanakmatta. When the mother and the women who were cutting fodder nearby raised an alarm, the leopard left the child and ran away. The children died on the spot after being bitten by the leopard’s teeth on their necks. On receiving the same information, forest department and police personnel reached the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Sukhwinder Kaur, wife of Mangal Singh, resident of village Tukdi, at around 5 pm on Sunday evening, had gone with her four-year-old son Jaswant Singh along with other women of the village to collect fodder for the animals from the field. Sukhwinder left his son to play near the ridge of the field and started cutting fodder. Meanwhile, the leopard hiding in the nearby sugarcane field attacked the innocent child. As soon as the mother and other women saw the leopard, they raised an alarm, due to which the leopard got scared and left the innocent child and went into the sugarcane field.
The innocent child died on the spot due to the leopard’s teeth on his neck. As soon as the information was received, Sudali Math Forest Range Officer Khushal Ram Tamta reached the spot along with forest personnel. SI Shankar Singh Bisht, Ashok Kandpal, Constable Navneet Kumar also inspected the spot. Father Mangal Singh, mother Sukhwinder Kaur and two sisters are in a sad state and crying over the death of the child.
