Dehradun. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi held a meeting with officials of the Tourism Department and District Administration regarding the construction of Doon-Mussoorie Ropeway at the Camp Office on Tuesday. During this, officials informed that all the formalities related to Mussoorie Ropeway have been completed. The work of LTP (Lower Terminal Point) has started.
Doon-Mussoorie ropeway construction work will be completed in November 2026. This ropeway will start from Purkul village in Dehradun and end at Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie. The length of the entire ropeway is about 5.5 km. Approximately Rs 300 crore will be spent on this project.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi directed the officials to complete the Doon-Mussoorie ropeway construction work within the stipulated time limit. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also gave instructions to shift the building of Garhwal Sabha which was involved in the construction of Doon-Mussoorie ropeway and to immediately select the land and provide it to Garhwal Sabha.
He said that after the completion of this project, tourism will get a boost and the crowd on Dehradun-Mussoorie road will also reduce and the local people and tourists will get relief from the jam-like situation during the festive season.
