Uttarakhand: Sad – Rifleman Shailendra martyred while patrolling on the border..

Very sad news is coming out for the country as well as Uttarakhand at this time. Rifleman Shailendra Singh Kathait, resident of Kumrada village of Indian Army, Garhwal Scout of the Indian Army, attained martyrdom while on duty. There is a wave of mourning in the village and area due to the news of his sacrifice. The mortal remains of martyred Rifleman Shailendra will be brought to the village on Wednesday. Where his last rites will be performed with military honors at the ancestral ghat.

 

 

 

While patrolling on the India-China border, an Army soldier died after his feet slipped from a glacier. Baidhani, 28, Shailendra was a resident of Kumrada village of Chinyalisaur development block. Shailendra was posted in Joshimath in the Garhwal Scouts of Garhwal Rifle.

 

 

 

 

On Monday, the Army officer informed Shailendra’s family about his sacrifice during patrolling duty on the border near Goldung Post Neeti. He told that Shailendra was going with his colleagues for patrolling when suddenly his foot slipped. And he fell from the glacier hill, by the time he was pulled out, Shailendra had been sacrificed.

 

 

 

 

Shailendra’s maternal uncle Om Prakash told that 2 months ago, Kripal Singh Kathait, father of martyr Shailendra, had died of a heart attack. Shailendra had gone after leave on 22nd November. He had gone saying that a new house had to be built. He told that Shailendra was the only lamp in the house. He has two younger sisters.

 

 

 

He had come home only two months ago on the death of his father Kripal Singh Kathait. He returned to duty after performing the last rites of his father here. Due to his sacrifice, his wife Anju and mother Dhyan Dei are in bad condition and crying. Shailendra has two small children aged five and one year.

 

 

 

District Panchayat President Deepak Bijlwan along with village head Kumarrada Vinod Pursoda, former chief Vijendra Rawat, Poonam Ramola, Shishpal Ramola have expressed grief over the martyrdom of Shailendra. Family members said that his last rites will be performed with military honors at his ancestral ghat Kumarrada. Will be done.
