Police in Tamil Nadu have registered a case of cruelty against animals against a YouTuber. YouTuber has posted a video in which an attempt was made to force feed a live cock to a bull,
This case of cruelty towards animals is from Chinappampatti in Salem district. This video was posted by accused Ragu in December 2023. In the video, three people are seen holding a bull. They are forcing the bull to chew a live chicken.
Aruna Isha, founder of Chennai-based Plant People for Cattle in India (PFCI), gave information about the police in this video. Maza wrote a letter to the Tharamangalam Police Inspector on Tuesday, January 16. Wrote in his letter,
“This is a very condemnable incident. The bull cruelly held the chicken between its teeth and pressed it and slowly started chewing the chicken. This is inhumane. It cannot even be imagined how much pain the chicken would have had to endure due to this. And also For the bull. This would be a situation where it would be forced to chew bones and feathers, drink blood and extract flesh. The bull would be mentally and biologically simply not prepared to understand this.”
In his letter, Prasanna also expressed concern over the fact that bulls are vegetarians. Feeding raw meat to animals can cause serious diseases. In the letter he has said that a case will be registered against the people involved in the video for hurting religious sentiments. He has also requested to register a case under sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Tharamangalam police said that based on the complaint, a case has been registered against three people. Further investigation is underway.Jallikattu is a popular game played during the Pongal harvest season in mid-January. The winner is decided by how long the bull’s hump remains under control.
