Uttarakhand: Once again the news of tiger attack is coming from Ramnagar of Nainital district. The sad news from Chukum, a remote village of Ramnagar development block, is that a tiger has attacked a villager here early in the morning and killed him.
According to the information received, Gopal Ram (60), resident of Chukum village, had gone to the forest for defecation in the morning. Where the tiger already in ambush attacked them and dragged them inside the forest. When the villager did not return for a long time, people started searching for him and the information was given to the forest personnel. On receiving the information, the forest personnel arrived and inspected the spot and after much effort, Gopal Ram was captured by the tiger inside the forest. The dead body has been recovered.
Kosi Range office in-charge of Forest Department, Ramnagar, Virendra Pandey said that patrolling has been increased at the spot. The movement of wildlife is being monitored. He said that appropriate compensation will be given to the family members of the villager who died in the tiger attack.
