Partial clouds are hovering over Uttarakhand amid dry weather, due to which temperatures are above normal in most areas. Fog has started increasing in the plain areas and frost is increasing the problems of the people in the mountainous areas. The weather will remain dry in the state till December 30. An increase of 1 to 2 degrees in the maximum temperature  during the day in the plains will reduce the feeling of cold. However, the cold will increase due to drop in morning and evening temperatures.

 

There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hill districts after December 31. Due to which the cold wave will increase the cold in the state, its effect will also be visible on the temperature. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar.   According to Vikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, the weather is likely to remain dry in the state for the next three days.

 

The weather may change in the hilly areas of the state from Saturday.    There are chances of snowfall on the mountain peaks in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag. Before the New Year, there may be one or two rounds of snowfall in the mountainous areas.  Due to cold wave and dense fog in the plains, the speed of roadways buses has also been slowed down.The nonstop Volvo running between Dehradun and Delhi is also arriving late by two and a half hours.

 

Whereas the travel time of this bus is fixed for 4 hours.   At the same time, due to severe cold in Niti Valley of Chamoli district, rivers and drains have frozen. A large number of tourists are reaching Niti Valley these days.   Niti Valley, which is always deserted in winter, is buzzing with tourists these days. Due to cold, the roads are frozen and even the waterfalls are frozen in the air.
